Private Investigator Bursary

National bursary competition for academic year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Each scholarship will provide £,1,000 to assist one student undertaking a full-time course (BTEC Level 3 and above).

The award will be made to the individual student for one year only.

What is This Scholarship?

We have a huge interest in the education of the next generation of private detectives and investigators and as we have a commitment to helping others we are offering one student a monetary award to assist with their education.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants are required to be studying for a BTEC Level 3 or above
  • Applicants are required to have firmly accepted their offer of a full-time place
  • Applicants must be registered with the university by the 31st October 2014 for the bursary 2014/2015 and 31st October 2015 for the bursary 2015-2016.

A panel made up of private detectives and investigators will meet in early November to consider who the scholarship will be awarded to.

Here is a list of suggested courses that would benefit from this bursary or alternatively if you have applied for or are attending a course that would benefit our industry please apply:

Criminology, Forensic Science, Criminology and Police Science, Forensic Crime Scene, Digital, E-Crime, Cyber Crime, Forensic Investigation, Forensic Analysis, Crime and Investigative Studies, Criminology and Sociology, Law, Psychology and Criminology, Policing, Law and Investigation.

Applicants that meet this criterion are invited to submit a 200 word statement titled "How The Private Investigator Scholarship Will Help Me" via the below form.

  • Cassiobury Park

    One of Watford's pride and perhaps a priced possession is the Cassiobury Park. Cassiobury Park is 190-acre estate mostly covered by grass, which serves as activity grounds. It is a home to old oak trees, plants and flowers. The River Gade runs through the park, thus making it a great habitat for endemic animals. The park holds activities such as park run, health walks, bike rides, and bird watching on a regular basis.

    Aldenham Country Park comprises of a farm, pony zone, reservoir, play grounds, and campsite. You can help collect eggs, pet and feed the animals in the farm. Get a chance to ride a pony in the Pony Zone. If you enjoy bonding with nature, take a walk around the park or set up a tent in the campsite. For children, there are indoor play barn and a chance to meet Winnie the Pooh.

    The Watford Museum, nestled in a brewery, accounts the long and rich history of Watford with memorabilia from different industries. Also, on the display is the Cassiobury Collection of Fine Art. The museum also holds regular activities for visitors. Activities include scrabble, dance classes, and interactive activities. What is unique about the museum is the tearoom. Every month, the exhibitor in the tearoom changes; so there is always a different flavour every time you visit.
